MY STORY…

It started when was playing around my parent’s VHS camcorder. As a kid, there was nothing quite as fun as making hilarious stories into 8mm movies. This playfulness matured into a genuine appreciation and creative curiosity for all lens-based mediums.

I studied Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba including drawing, painting, photography, and printmaking. But for me, cinematography was the ultimate creative visual medium. People are completely enthralled by the moving image (including myself) and the question of how to best harness that potential feels endlessly complicated, rich with history, and always changing.

While in school I worked as a photographer for 6 years. Now I create films for a variety of artistic, commercial, and narrative projects - with a specialty in photographic direction and camera operation. I started a video production company called Folks Films with my brother, Taylor.

In 2021, I became an Associate Member of the CSC (Canadian Society of Cinematographers).
